The Canon EOS 600D offers plenty of features for the beginner photographer to grow with the camera. Along with fast phase-detection autofocus, amazing image quality (especially in low light) is one of the big candies for the reviews. Other remarkable features are Scene Intelligent Auto Mode, Feature Guide Instruction, Creative Image Filters and my favorites, the Integrated Speedlite Transmitter and 3″ Vari-Angle Clear View LCD.

For beginner photographer, justify the lighting conditions is always the issue. In Canon EOS 600D, Images are well exposed under a range of lighting conditions, saving much of your  time with the exposure compensation button. As well as shooting in Evaluative metering, you can switch to Partial, Centre-weighted or Spot metering in the menu of the EOS 600D.

White Balance is also a concern for most of the beginners. There are 6 white balance modes (Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Tungsten light, White fluorescent light & Flash), and also the Custom mode. The good

  Excellent Image Quality– With the 18.0 megapixels running on Digic 4 image processor, you can capture picture as a pro. In most situations, the  Canon EOS 600D captures colour accurately with excellent sharpness and details. The Digic 4 processor does a good job in reducing the noise even when using high ISO (up to 6400).  

       
  Excellent Video Capability and Quality – It  impressed the reviewers as it is about to capture full HD videos at 1080p up to 30fps. Canon also incorporates the Video Snapshot, with some in-camera special-effects filters, feature to record a series of 2, 4 or 8 second video clips, without editing combined into a movie. It seems particularly useful for those travelling, who may want  to record a brief summary of where they’ve been without needing to trawl through various clips of different sizes.
  Adjustable and Articulating LCD Screen – Just like the expensive EOS D60, the 600D has a Vari angle 3-inch (7.7cm) 3:2 Clear View TFT display with 1040k dot resolution. The LCD lens moves freely about its hinge of the camera. Containing up to 1.04 million dots composition, it displays captured pictures flawlessly.
  Creative Filters– Canon EOS 600D  offers 5 creative filters which reviewers find fun to have. They are Grainy B/W, Soft Focus, Fish Eye Effect, Toy Camera Effect and Miniature Effect. Users are able to apply it with three different strength, then save it as a seperate file. This could be a factor for all the creative users to consider.   

     
  Easy to Use Menu– As the best DSLR camera for beginners, simplicity plays the role. The easy to use menu selects landscape for sceneries, portrait for taking pictures of people and sports mode for fast moving action by just dialing to scene mode.  You can also easily select different mode dials like manual, semi manual and automatic.       

The Ergonomics – You can find it is a well-designed DSLR with easy-to-use controls and comfortable material. The more well-defined handgrip and thumb rest offer a comfortable grip, while the more pronounced textured rubber finish applied are a welcome progression from the 550D.

 

  

 

 

The Bad

  Low Battery Life–  The battery life is a tradeoff for this top notch quality pictures camera. Losing out to even it’s predecessor the 550D, its battery life can only last up to 470 shots, which is 80 shots less then 550D.  
  Flat buttons – One quibble here is that, due to the relatively small size of this DSLR, the buttons all feel a bit too flat, making rather difficult to tell if the user has pushed the button.
        
  Relatively Slow for Burst Shooting Sports, Kids or Pets Mode – Though the image quality and general shooting performance are top-notch,  when it comes to continuous shooting, Canon EOS 600D may not be able to keep up.
  No Dedicated Movie Record Button– The placement of the movie mode is at the opposite side of the dial from the advanced modes.  For users frequently switching back and forth from image mode and video mode, could be frustrating.

AMAZING!

We just bought this camera a little over a week ago. It’s our first DSLR camera. I have barely been able to put it down since I took it out of the box. When I’m at work, all I can think about it getting home to take more pictures with my camera! It takes amazing photographs, with crystal clear images. It’s easy to navigate for a beginner too. We did buy a few books so we can read about some of the more in-depth features of the camera, but so far we are very, very pleased. I promise you won’t be dissapointed with this purchase!

I have been determined to get this camera for about two years now and would look at it every time I went to Best Buy. My dad told me it would be best to get it from Amazon and not Ebay even though I found it cheaper there, and not get it from Best Buy because of the no tax and free shipping with Amazon. To my advantage, the extra penny’s gave me piece of mind and worked in my favor. It shipped to me quick and was nicely packaged. Also, if anything went wrong I paid through pay pal and Amazon would refund me my money regardless. I absolutely LOVE this camera, it not only takes AMAZING pictures but it is relatively easy to use. I am an aspiring fashion designer and photographer and I believe for this being my first personal camera its a perfect start.

This is my first dslr after using lots of different point & shoot from canon & nikons. I am very much happy with how much I can control different aspects of the photo. Well I am still learning so can’t say much about anything else. I have small hands and this fits perfectly into it.

I stepped up to this DSLR to gain high resolution and greater flexibility in photos. I still have much to learn but so far it is really easy to take great high resolution photos on the basic automatic setting that are available.

The latest model in Canon’s popular Rebel series is very much the camera that the range’s history leads us to expect: well featured, well-designed and competitively priced. It’s a very conventional camera in a part of the market that is seeing some interesting innovations, but the conventional DSLR design still best suits many people’s needs, especially when it’s done this convincingly.

It is not only a camera for dslr beginners, ,enthusiast shooters  but also budget movie shooters that are looking for some of the latest technology in a well-designed, well-priced package.

As a standalone mid-price DSLR, and the EOS 600D is a great camera.
